I take joy in designing new things. I may not be the best at picking color schemes but I find delight in my final choice. I spend a lot of time on the layout and appreciate a good one when I see it. The fact that design can be ever-changing is one of the greatest parts of webdesign.
I don't stop at building web pages. I also manage a YouTube Channel, 3d print, spend a little time with a CNC, build fine cabinetry, and not so fine furniture. In my spare time, I build homes from the ground up. You know what they say about idle hands. There is no need to worry about me.
Teaching through videos is something that happened by accident. I started my Cheap Controls YouTube channel to store information so I could go back if I wanted to refresh my own memory but soon enough I had a small audience. I enjoy answering as many questions as time allows.
Coder Based in the Midwest
I am a unique personality located in the heart of America. The beautiful state of Illinois has been my home for my entire life. Spending a few years in the great city of Chicago I experienced a side of life that I will cherish forever. Living in rural Western, Illinois has rounded out my life and has given me a well-rounded perspective.
I have been a developer since the early 80s. I started by building power supplies and other small kits in my parents basement. The Atari 800 8-bit computer with 48k of memory was my introduction to coding. 40 years later and I have not lost my love of building and coding.
My desire for construction did not start until later in life. A wonderful blended family experience resulted in the need to expand our home. Limited funds and extra time lead to a discovery of a hidden talent. Now I am building homes along with some of the furniture and the cabinetry that they contain.
